Sickle Cell Alliance of Nevada
(SCAN)
SCAN is a collaborative network of providers, community-based organizations (CBOs), and community health workers (CHW) dedicated to developing an action plan to make community-based services accessible to all individuals and families living with sickle cell disease (SCD) across Nevada, linking them to specialty SCD care; identifying community-based services in the state; providing education, support, disseminating resources through multiple vehicles; and linking to the state NBS program.

Our team is led by primary grant recipient, Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center of Nevada (HTCNV)/ Sickle Cell Center of Nevada (SCCNV). HTCNV/ SCCNV is Nevada’s federal grantee of the HRSA Sickle Cell Disease Newborn Screening Follow up Program grant: HRSA-21-036 and for Sickle Cell treatment.

HTCNV/SCCNV has collaborated with community health workers (CHW) from DreamSickle Kids Foundation and Bridging the Gap: Adult Sickle Cell Foundation, and a nurse educator to create Sickle Cell Alliance of Nevada.
